Training Course Descriptions
There are three main training courses in the Below 100 Program:
Below 100 Intensive Course
This is the primary course of the program focused on addressing the 5 Tenets. These tenets were developed to address the key contributing factors to preventable line of duty deaths. This is a 4-hour block of instruction to be taught by a Below 100 certified trainer. There is no limit to how many attendees may be included in the course. Smaller venues or shift schedules may require multiple sessions.
Below 100 Train The Trainer Course
The Train The Trainer Course is only taught by Below 100 Core Trainers and instructs trainer candidates on how best to deliver the Intensive curriculum, to include strategies to help implement the 5 Tenets into an agency. This is also a 4-hour block of instruction, but candidates must first attend a Below 100 Intensive Course (usually Intensive is taught in the morning and Train The Trainer is taught in the afternoon, to be completed in one day). Limit 25 attendees.
Below 100 Best Practices Symposium
This symposium is offered regionally 3-4 times each year and is intended for command, administrative and training officers to attend. The goal is to teach the role that the Below 100 Program can play in cultivating a culture of safety inside an agency and how to best utilize the training courses to achieve the greatest results. The symposium is taught by members of the Below 100 Board of Directors.
